Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

I just spent a couple of days in the Phoenix valley visiting relatives and oh yeah, Jon! It was supposed to be for the day and ended up over night. Gabriel was with me so he could meet and play with cousins, he felt so grown up, out and about with Nanny, so cute and fun. I really need to find the charger for my camera so I can capture some of these special times. Anyway, it was a nice little vacation

Every time I talk to my oldest brother, Bob, it seems like another "remember when" comes up. Funny thing, he never seems to remember the same things I do. Like when he planted an avocado pit in a planter in a rental house we lived in. Now that thing had sat empty for months and all of a sudden some mystery plant was shooting up. Bob sat back laughing at Mom and I as puzzled over that thing. I thought it was pretty cool and loved taking care of it. After a while Bob finally shared the big joke about the pit. I didn't even have the sense to feel silly, that made it even better to me! Bob remembers nothing about it, it was one of the best memories of the year in Albuquerque for me.

As I think back, there have been so many times that Jon & I have totally different takes on something that happened. I wish I had been able to record our separate accounts of our courtship. Mine, of course is way more accurate. I worried, agonized, & fretted while he went on along with his life of work, church work and flying with his new pilot's license, happy as could be. We got a big laugh when we realized we had just married and didn't seem to know each other very well after all. A-a-a-h, young love, to dumb to worry! Didn't even have the sense to realize we had just embarked on life's journey full mysteries and pitfalls. Sure glad that a martian and venusian can meet in the middle, hook their hopes and dreams on the tail of a star and fly through eternity!!
