La Posada

Finally got these dresses finished, kind of. I missed a couple of things. I always promise myself that I will never sew on velvet again and then there I go . . . AAUUGH! I realized that my left eye is much worse than it was just a few months ago. It is so hard to see small stuff now. I looked at the little outfit I made for Lincoln just 9 months ago, and what a difference! A little scary. I just never pictured this happening to me. How normal and average, huh?

There is a little more sewing before Christmas, hope it goes better since it isn't velvet or reflective.

What do you think? Do the kids like their teacher? Actually, one of the moms was there and said the girls LOVED Mrs. Huish. Not a surprise. She loves her kids! Warming up the girls' voices.

Every year Salpointe has La Posada. After a mass, the group go from door to door in one of the courtyards and get turned away until some one has room. At each door they knock and sing. It was pretty neat. You could tell that it was a wonderful tradition for some of the families there.

Aunt Sassy went with me and got to hold Tati up so that she could see. After they go to the stable (gazebo), there is a pinata for the children. Tati was a little hesitant, but not Arianna! They were both so lady like when picking up the candy kind of funny. I told Brianna she had to blame Grandma Petty for that . . . . . they certainly didn't learn it over here! They had already been given a bag of candy as soon as the Nativity story was over and they just added to it from the pinata.

Thank you for the dresses. The girls love them. And thanks for coming to Las Posadas. I had run singing with some of my students, and my girls had fun coming to work with mommy! Thanks for coming to join us. It made it the evening that much better!

The dresses are beautiful. What a talent! For me it would be a talent in patience! Glad to see you found Sherrie. I will email her.

Their dresses are adorable! I love the traditional look of velvet with plaid...so pretty! I'm with you on the eye thing...I hate that my eyes keep getting worse and making it so difficult to do the things I love!
