This morning I went to the new Sunflower market. So much fun! There were mobs of people, hoping to be one of the first 200 who would get a free bag of groceries (no I didn't make it, DRAT! Would've loved to stock up on soy free stuff for the Gabester) There were lots of crowds, nice, misguided old ladies in line (who are glad they didn't live anywhere near their grandkids), enthusiastic employees (who got pretty excited when I told them I would like 5 lugs of peaches), which brought me a nice experience at McDonald's, kind of.When I got out to the car, I realized that I had mistakenly told the cashier that I had 4 lugs of peaches and she charged me for them, BUT I had 5, not 4. It was early, I was already tired and really did not want to go back but I did, got it paid for, felt good when the cashier looked appreciative as she thanked me for coming back. That was not much effort for a good feeling. I figure if I do "burn forever" it will be for more than something like $16.00 lug of peaches, "make it worth it", I always say.
On the way home, I gave in and stopped by for a quick breakfast sandwich. As I was getting my ice and drink a young woman came around the corner and said, "Excuse me, I think you dropped this up at the counter". I was surprised because I hadn't had any bills in my pocket, but when I checked my wallet, I was missing a bill. I was so thankful for her doing that act of kindness. Made me wonder if there was a little reward for "taking care of business" earlier . . . my whole day will be happier for her actions. Made me even happier that I had gone back into Sunflower Market.
By the way, if you like wonderful produce, check this market out. On Wednesday, they honor the ads that just ended and the new ones . . . double ads for double savings. Between here and Sprouts, you can really eat very healthy without breaking the bank . . . . of course, if you really want to stretch your food budget, check out the bountifulbaskets.org website!

I love Sunflower Market...AND Bountiful Basket! :)
And your morning sounds so much nicer than mine. I was almost completely taken out by a Black Hummer who was apparently too busy to do things like follow simple traffic rules. It was scary. But it is always nice when people are honest, especially when the good deed is returned!
Hey Sharron- I just wanted to tell you that I am glad you mentioned bountiful baskets because I got my first order from them on Saturday! I prepared a lot of it and put it in our garage freezer since there's only 3 of us. We'll see how well we consume the rest before ordering again. But everything has been excellent so far. So thanks for that.
Also, I was finally able to get out to Sprouts. I had a dr. appt. out there so I got Raiden his first eegee's (got lots of dirty looks for that! ha.) because he's normally a terror when I shop. It worked like a charm. I was able to get all the grains that grocery stores don't carry. I love that store! I blogged about it: bellybabybody.blogspot.com.
