A Little Bit of a Shock!

Last night I was running errands and decided to go see Sarah at her part time job down on University Ave. She looked so cute, if I may say so myself. I forget how pretty she is when I haven't seen her for a week or two.

Her first week of school was pretty hairy. She was still waiting for some of her books, starting a new job (where they scheduled her every night for 7 hours), and just all that comes into play with a new semester. The week ended with a 20-hour day working both jobs. She was pretty exhausted but seems to have recovered.

I visited with her for a few minutes, got a cone and started walking back to my car. Talk about funny looks!!! I didn't exactly think I would fit in, but that was too funny! I aged 40 years, in an instant. Listening to what the kids were talking about as I walked was hysterical. I remember thinking that sort of stuff was so serious and relevant. And the stuff that guys were doing to impress girls. One was really a dork and I wonder if he ever noticed that the girls were looking at him like he had lost his mind.

The night left me glad that I am passed that stage of my life and once again, I have wondered about the married women I used to work with who envied me as a young single woman. I still agree with what I told them then, "If you marry the right person, you can have just as much "fun", you just get to share it with some one you love and can trust to always be there".

Even though Sarah has been moved into a different ward, even stake, at least she is close enough to see once in a while. I know this may not always be the case, but I sure enjoy it for now!

Yes, I would not want to be going through those "dating" years again. Yikes! Working close to Sarah has been nice, I get to stop by and see her from time to time...and she doesn't seem to mind being the middle man for you and I! :)
