A Summer of Gardening . . .

I was so excited to do some gardening last spring. It has been an educational summer to say the least. I have learned many things . . . and finally got 3 bell peppers to ripen to a beautiful deep red . . . sure wish they made more than one bite, combined!
  • Listen to the local experts.
  • Ask the local experts questions, in the first place.
  • Prepare your soil before planting.
  • Find out what your soil needs.
  • If you have moths hanging around, learn how to keep the cut worms out of the soil . . . before they wipe out an entire bed out!Especially if you find yourself taking little clusters of eggs off the stems of your plants.
  • Learn to get up really early so that you don't have to work out in the infernal heat.
  • Remember to be patient, most gardens improve with each year if you continue to plant and build the soil.
  • Enjoy the journey, who knows what you may get to harvest!
  • Add some flowers, they add beauty and may help repel some harmful insects . . and they seem to outlive the veggies ;-}
Guess now it is time to scoop the poop, or manure and get some serious soil ready since it is time to plant fall gardens. I look forward
to gardening withOUT the heat, just the planting will be in it, DRAT!
