1. Holbrook used to be full of rock shops. Once summer we decided to hit them all on one day. It was pretty funny seeing what all had been made of rocks, mainly petrified wood, from private land. 2. The dinosaurs were added after dinosaur bones were found in the park.
3. This is Romos, home of the best green chile enchiladas. I was so disappointed that it was closed! I have been known to dream of the crazy enchiladas! 4. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Roxy was still open. When we saw "Home Alone" , I laughed so hard that the kids were embarrassed to walk out with me . . . it is a small town and we did know just about everyone by that time.
5. Scenes from "Cars". They aren't shaped like old Cadillacs but I think of this butte whenever the boys are watching the movie. 6. The real "Cozy Cone Motel" in hillbilly hell, where they do have standards.
7. I've always loved this old court house. They have a great little museum in some of the rooms, an old jail cell and there is a bullet hole in the ceiling of the court room, coming down into the room! No one knows the story. 8. This old bank building is a classic. It hasn't changed except for the bright red doors.
9. This Dairy Queen had the BEST hamburgers! They were well smoked . . ,. with cigarettes . . . but they were still good mind you, good! It was fine dining when mom would take you there for lunch. 10. Maxwell's was where Jon had the engine on his 1972, 4X4 truck re-manufactured. Man did it have a lot of get up and go after that! Myron was a good sport and put that yellow license plate on it for me . . . the one that says, "Answer my prayers, steal this car"! A few years later, Rob flipped that truck. We all had tears in our eyes when it was towed away.

what fun pictures and fun memories!
Loads of memories in these pictures. Thanks, Sharron!
It was my grandfather that built the Wigwam Motel (Cozy Cone Motel). Although I have wonderful memories of my life there, I am glad to have moved away from Holbrook.
Okay that courthouse is HAUNTED! I LOVED going to the Museum and seeing everything, but when you go down stairs to the prison cells I always heard prisoners crying, and begging to let them out. Esp the cell at the end of the block. I was always so scared to walk down the block. I always made it to cell two then turned around and shot up the stairs like a bolt of lightning!
