Head Fairy with Pixie Hollow

We spent Thanksgiving with our friends and neighbors, the Purdys and didn't get any pictures.  Shee, I am just too scattered.  Never would have pulled it off without Sarah's help!  Mariah was a trooper.  She and the kids had a quick lunch with us, then ran over to the fire station to have another lunch with Stephen and the other fire men on duty.  Then it was back here for dessert.  The kids seemed to enjoy it and she held on pretty darn well.  With all that has gone on with the baby since she has had Lynneah, she is pretty exhausted and will be so happy when Christmas break gets here . . . you know, when she is home all day with all the kids.  Hopefully, I can get most of the secret surprises done by then so they can spend time over here, one at a time, to divide and conquer!

The next day the whole family got together for "left-over" day.  We stuck to just turkey enchiladas and desserts.  Ham sandwiches were an option, but no one seemed interested.  Jon and Rob were both tired.  Rob had worked the night before and was working again that night and Jon was just old and tired . . . . too many hours in and getting home from Phoenix.  Stephen was about, so quiet, as usual, that it was hard to know where and what he was doing.  Jon used to be more like that, now I just have to listen and can find him right off . . . snoring away  . . .  ;- }  Love that cute old feller!
Aunt Mariah making bling
Z-z-z-z-z-z-z

Good year for bling since the
girls' holiday dresses still fit them.

Thought the girls would like to "help"
make their bling, they had
better things to do.
Got the gaps!  Which is cuter,
new baby teeth or gaps later?

Sarah appointed herself,
head snuggler for a while

What would a holiday weekend be without running little kids into the ground until they have a melt down?  Just un-American I would say!  Poor little Lincoln was getting so tired, so he laid down carefully on the floor and then proceeded with his tantrum.  He finally is not bashing his own head constantly, exercising his two-year oldness.  Such a relief . . . though he does still forget occasionally. Maybe he will have his technique perfected by the time he is actually 2, in February!
Jon and I really enjoyed the weekend, but also enjoyed the next day being pretty quiet to just rest up.  He was getting a handle on his coughing, sneezing and whatever it was he had been dealing with.  I ended up staying home on Sunday to sleep another day to try to get my cough broken up.  Half way through Monday, after resting some more, I finally can clear my lungs enough to keep going.  Still having to get all the sleep I can manage to keep it clearing.

This happens every year and it is hard to discipline myself so that it doesn't go on the whole winter.  Every year I am reminded how hard it was when the kids were young and I just had to keep going.  I spent an average of 6 months sick every year.  We didn't know I had asthma back then and it was pretty tough going.  Now I am a wimp and just cut back before it gets so bad.  So see all of you young moms, there are advantages to getting old!  I haven't had pneumonia in years . . . so nice!
