Play Date vs Crank Date

This morning Mariah dropped by for something and gave me a good scare she shared a pretty funny "Garrett".

G- Mom can I go for a play date today?
M-Where?
G-Nanny's . . . .
M-Why don't you ask some one over here to play?
G- Nanny doesn't like to play over here!
My first thought--Sounds like more of Crank Date than a Play Date.

Guess that makes it official, I am a typical old lady who likes to be home best.  sigh, how did this ever happen anyway?  But it is true.  And what a great little guy to understand that and accept it.  And what a great little guy to still want to come over, even when I am so cranky with all that I seem to not get done!

The Savior taught us that we need to be like children to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Once again, one of the wonderful children/ young people in my life is teaching me by their example.  Though I am not able to see my sweet little grand daughters as often, we are still close enough to see each other and stay close as well.  In fact I got to see them last night at Mommy's concert.  their Aunt Shantell came and stayed with them until it was time for the performances.   They too, often teach me.

Am I blessed or what to have these youngsters so close so that I can continue to learn from them?  Am I so blessed to be able to have the gospel, be sealed in God's House (temple) to my good husband so that we have the opportunity to be an eternal family, by our obedience to His commandments?  Am I so blessed to have the chance to hear my grandchildren ask Heavenly Father to bless me and Papa . . .  I love it, even when they ask Him to help me make "good choices, not be mad and to not drink too much soda".  With them pulling for me, how could I fail?

Speaking of Garrett, his old friend is back out front.  he came skittering in yesterday like the devil himself was after him.  I showed him that it wasn't even plugged in so he didn't have to worry about it.

And with this holding his head on, just how scary can he be?  Unless you know the story of Frankenstein . . .  heh, heh, heh.  He got knocked over too many times by the wind last year.

So now I have a dilemma, to plug or not to plug?  We'll have to see just how long this ornery old lady can resist plugging that thing in just to watch Garrett when it starts moving and talking unexpectedly.   I would have to have a camera ready, of course.

Gabriel built a way cool town with the train yesterday, Garrett would just love it.  Guess he might just have to have an overnighter so that it doesn't go to waste!

Thanks again for coming last night...and for bringing Gabriel. It was fun seeing him there as well.

And boy are the girls going to be excited to see the GRINCH out again! :)
