This is the antique window that I bought a while back. Glazing the glass panes went so badly that I just clear caulked it all in and painted over the "inside" which had been stained a dark brown. Jon was surprised since I had wanted it to show it's age . . . . .
First, it is important to gather all of your supplies . . . . .
. . . including the snacks and a good movie.
So now I am sanding it off, more or less to restore an antique look. The picture shows me I have a long ways to go before it looks just right again. I am also losing the dark stain, so I will find my self re-staining the bare spots with a q-tip before I varnish the whole thing.
I really hope this turns out the way I want it to >:- ?
The redwood is all ready and waiting. The gardening has been so discouraging that I am ready to stamp more projects "FINISHED" ! and feel successful again.
I was advised to flush my gardens since the soil was so rich and that is what is going on out there, while I shade the few surviving plants.
