Invasion of the Girls . . . . What a Switch!

Arianna assigned herself to be photographer while I was helping Tati climb the ladder to see the new baby doves, our first for this season.  Our patio nest dove has just laid duds so far.  Poor little thing, all that sitting all for naught

How do such ragged little messes turn into such lovely gray doves with such soft little calls every morning?  Beats me!

Next of course is the "gathering of the pine cones".  Watching all of the grand kids, you would think they were gold plated.  Arianna gathered 15 pretty ones, last count.  I have of something wonderful they can do with all of the cones.  With 11 pine trees (Huish Family Forest), we have a LOT of them!

Next it was off to watch Garrett play soccer.  That little guy can sure cover a lot of ground with those little legs of his.  He doesn't usually seem real sure why, but he covers it by golly!

Arianna decided that sun screen was not enough protection from the sun.  She latched on to this old straw hat.  It was the last one my dad had before he died.  Bob (oldest brother) sent it home with Jon one time.  He figured I would "like to have it in my family room".  Hmmm, really didn't want it there, and yet I haven't gotten rid of it., but what to do, what to do.  Arianna  showed me.  She got lots of smiles, I got a few questioning looks and we got smiles when one of us explained it's significance.  I think its's darling and love that she is not so hung up on  "looks" and can express herself.  That comes too soon

Garrett got to rest and sit out for a time.  He had a great coach who rotated the kids in and out of the game.  I appreciate those kind of coaches.

Lincoln's fate for lots of practices and games.  He was in total tears right after this picture was taken and managed to escape the dreaded stroller.

And of course there was the other little prisoner . . . . she didn't last long either, especially with so many of her adoring fans surrounding her !

The dad types got comfortable, as long as they could  manage . . . . chuckle . . .

So did the Nanny type.  Once again, I am glad for my nice big lap, sure glad it came in handy for something after all.  There was the slightest little breeze that kept it from getting too hot with all the little bodies on and around me.  Sigh . . .

In case there is any question, Daddy/Uncle Stephen has way more cool phone than Nanny!  Sometime I am just a little tempted, but no where enough to spend the $$ on something that would no doubt confuse me to no end!

This would be Garrett's coach and her some Scott., who definitely knows his way around a soccer field.  Cute little guy.  I hear that after just a few minutes on the field at the first practice, they were already fast friends.  Garrett is so excited about Scott's upcoming birthday party.  When I asked Garrett if his coach was pretty (suspected from the way his face lit up every time he mentioned her) he looked kind of funny and then broke out in the biggest smile as he shook his head.  Made him feel shy, so cute!

As soon as Garrett's game was over, it was off to Gabriel's basket ball game.  Garrett had gotten lots of treats after is game and was so sweet to share plenty with Arianna and Tati.  I was pretty proud of him.  they didn't seem to mind that he had been wallowing the fruit roll-up all over his face before the last part was distributed.  Yeck!!

These little kids can really cover a basket ball court! Back and forth, back and forth.  It started  to remind me of a littler of baby pigs that ran all over in a pack.  The kids were of course cuter . . .  I think . .  those baby pigs were awfully cute!

When the coach called them together to talk to them, Gabriel tried so hard to cue in . . . it  just doesn't last very long, even after all that running to burn energy.

After all the running around, we went home and made Mexican Pizzas.  Papa was passed out cold in the Monkey  Room before they were made, so we girls had a nice lunch and then laid down for our naps.  I read the first book since it had a bunch of weird names in it.  Arianna read the next two and then everyone was ready to sleep.  I've said it so many times, is there any thing as sweet as sleeping kids?  I had Tati snuggled up to me while I was laying there and Arianna was snuggle up to her.  Gives a Granny Nanny sweet dreams!!

Since it is Sunday, I am going to take another nap.  Zounds . . . two days in a row!  How did I luck out?  Then I will post about Brianna's "Farewell  Concert".

Lots of special pictures! They sure had fun. I'm glad they got to see their cousins play games, and so on. I'm even okay with the big ol' hat Arianna wore. From the pictures, she was right...it appears to have provided PLENTY of shade! :) She has one here that she likes to wear, and she even pulls it down over her face for naptime. It's pretty funny. I took a pic once, I should find it and post it.
