The Last Farewell Concert

Brianna has finished her last year of teaching.  She turned in her resignation just before the play and told the kids before they had a chance to hear the news through the grape vine. Though it was not as emotional as the last concert at Sabino High was, it was still pretty teary from time to time.  I am so glad that these youth appreciate her and the talents she has developed in her self and in them.

I will just load a bunch of pictures and put captions on them.  It should be a little easier that way.

Or maybe not the captions,  Brianna does most of her directing from right here.  No doubt there is a lot of practicing and communication.  I don't remember hearing anything miss a beat.

This girls' group always seems to have a little surprise for us.  In this song, they start out all prim an proper and then they start to get a little silly and it is always fun.  Great group!  They were pretty teary as they left the stage.

These are the most advanced kids.  During one of the songs they surprised Brianna with everyone motioning to her when they were singing something mentioning everything we learned from you, or something like that.  I know, rambling here, but they all motioned towards Brianna and caught her by surprise.  It was sweet.  She could tell us the exact line.

And then there was a "Grease" Attack.   One of the girls did the choreography . . . it was great and the kids had so much fun.  Isn't it funny what we all accidentally admit to dream about?  Everyone seems to have little  a "Grease"  wanna be in us.  Being at a private school that is sponsored by a church would probably make it even more appealing to these kids .

Several kids played the guitar.  They all came together in this number, it was very relaxing and pleasant to listen to.  Brianna does a great job of letting the program build and then scale it back a bit, but not for too long.  Great skill for the performers and the audience.

I have so many pictures that I could share.  Good ole' digital cameras.  But this one seems to sum it up pretty well.  Every group had a thank you gift for Mrs. Huish. . .  the lady that they pictured as a big old mean lady, when they saw the name but had not met her yet.  Old story, but still funny if you ask me.  I have wondered if she was quick enough to tell them, "No that would be my MIL."   After the way that she was totally ignored at the end of the play this year and all of her work ignored, I was glad that the ones who counted stepped up and let her know how much she was loved and appreciated for all that she sees in the youth of today.  For all that she does to help them see that potential and enrich their own lives with that knowledge and understanding of just who they are.

Thanks kids for being who you are, for appreciating someone who has worked so hard in your behalf.  Thanks Brianna for sharing this part of your life with us and enriching our life experience through these programs!  We love you!

Thanks for sharing! It's still a bit emotional for me...so I will probably wait a bit longer. But it was a wonderful evening. I love so many of those kids, and I know we will keep in touch over the years.

Thanks for coming to so many of my concerts over the years. It is always nice to see someone out in the audience who came to see and support you!

Since I live so far away, update me: What is the name of this school (I read somewhere near Sabino Canyon?)? Why is she leaving? Are they moving?? Great job capturing the emotion and concert.
