Finding My Dream Boat

When I was in high school, I decided that I wanted to marry some big nordic type.  You know, six foot something, blue eyes, blonde hair.  As time went on I realized that I seemed to be attracted to  brunettes or red heads . . . with brown puppy eyes . . . who were six foot something.

More time passed and I realized that it could hurt your neck kissing those big ole guys, so maybe 5'10" to 6' would be better. . . . with dark hair and brown puppy eyes.

More time passed and I realized that there were more important things.  "Things" like patience, kindness, integrity, generosity, spirituality, dependability, giving, liked kids and knew why, respectful, respectable, funny, worthy, consistent, giving, just goofy enough to entertain me, loving, old fashioned and a little chauvinistic without the pig. Oh yeah, with brown puppy eyes.

So I found this guy who didn't have brown puppy eyes,  not a brunette.  He had a kind of a goofy smile sometimes,  but pretty much had the qualities I had decided were really
important, and he was the right height!

Thirty one years ago, he took me to the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and honored me with his hand in marriage (was that backwards?)  I guess
you could say that the rest is history!

I hope we have many more history making years together  . . .  sometimes that "kind of goofy smile still makes my heart flip flop". When he smiles at me with his eyes . . . well . . .  let's just say my heart melts and he makes me feel warm all over!  Every woman should feel this safe and cozy when her husband looks at her.  It's kind of fun and wonderful  . . . I really enjoy my life!

This is my favorite picture taken on our wedding day.

And now your family has grown to include (so far) 5 kids, and 5 grandchildren. Its wonderful how something so small, yet wonderful, can grow into something even better! Happy Anniversary to you guys as well! We love you.
