Not a Call I Ever Wanted to Get !

This afternoon when Mariah went to volunteer at Gabriel's class, she couldn't get near it.  After she called me to let me know, Rob went hunting on the internet and found this article.

__________ Elementary is now off on lockdown.  The school was locked down for a few hours as the Pima County Sheriffs Office searched for at least one person in connection with a illegal immigrant drop house.

Pima County Sheriff Office says five illegal immigrants have been arrested and were being held in a home in the 3400 block of West Green Trees Drive. According to Deputy Dawn Barkman, the Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, one of the five people being held was treated for injuries.

All of those arrested are believed to be Mexican Citizens.
One "Ding Dong" actually commented:  yawn, happens every day.  Obviously didn't have a loved one in the school... And Gabriel is a very loved one.  He just seemed to be bothered that he didn't get recess. . . .  such a normal kid, with such typical priorities.  Oh how I miss the days when everything was so clear to me  . . . . until I remember all the years that have brought me to this place in my life.  Wouldn't trade that for anything!

When I was student teaching, the school I was working at went on lock down, for several hours. It was a little scary, but the kids eventually viewed it more as an inconvience. Ahh, two different perspectives on the same issue. I am glad that Gabriel's school got the memo in time and went on lock down because that will actually keep them safer! It's still scary, but we are glad he is okay!!!

I worry everytime RaLee or one of the grandkids schools go into lock down! it's scary and I'm always so thankful that RaLee has a cell phone and that she keeps me informed of whats going on...on the inside and it eases/calms my fears. You never know these days what the heck some sick person is going to do!
Glad all was well with Gabriel and his school!

It is amazing how often that happens! We have a lockdown here iin Avondale about once a month in one of the schools. Crazy! But it keeps the kids safe.
