Some time back, I posted about our leak in the attic and showed you a sweet little small stain on the ceiling in our master bedroom. I couldn't locate the post or the pic on my computer so just take my word for it. It was only about 4 inches by 2 - 3 inches.
Well . . . . . this is what I came home to this weekend! I had almost stayed in CA a few more days. Hate to think what I would've come home to if we had!
Bad News - - - that patch job that Jon did, who knows how long ago has given out.
Good News - - - - - Jon will have to go up into that indescribably hot attic to fix this, with a cranky wife hovering, pushing and nagging . . . just a little bit. Don't want him to leave town again with it in an iffy state.
Bad News - - - - We will be out more $$$.
Good News - - - - it was only about $13.00
Bad News - - - - The stain on the ceiling is pretty bad and dark, so it will take some doing to get it covered.
Good News - - - - We have a ceiling!!
Bad News ---- That ceiling has the dreaded popcorn, (how awful to name something that icky after something so delicious)
Good News ---- that ceiling is in a bedroom being "decorated" in a rustic cabin style so it will add to the ambiance. . . . .Oh stop groaning! . . . it was worth a shot! Actually the good news is that once Jon knows it isn't going to leak anymore, he'll forget all about it and won't know if it is cleaned up or not.

Paint over the stain with Kilz. That will get rid of it pretty much. It's hard to do with a popcorn ceiling tho. Good luck! At least the ceiling didn't cave in.
Oh boy, I'm glad you didn't come home to find part of your ceiling on the floor!!! And yay for it being so little to patch. Now for covering up the stain! Sorry.
I hate popcorn ceilings! They sell a pole with a scraper on the end that you attach a garbage bag to and you scape that stuff off right into the garbage sack. I got desperate in RaLee's room and used a flat end garden tool-an edger looking thing kind of like a flat hoe- then primed with Kilz and painted. I need to do it to the entire house! My arms and shoulders ache just thinking about it.
Anyways SO glad you came home before it got worse and that Jon was a sweety and got into that HOT attic!
