WEATHER FORECASTS

I got up this morning and decided to get domestic.  You know, put on the little apron, or the big old ugly one that does some good for the messiest cook in the world.  Jon was home, so I thought I would make some thing special, corn meal pancakes, OK, they are special to me and the rest of the family seemed to enjoy them.  I thought that would get me over the urge to bake, didn't work.

So I decided to get the sponge that I started last night and worked it up, split it into several cereal bowls.  I've been dying to make soup bowls out of that Artisan Bread recipe that I have been playing with lately.

While they were brewing again, I decided that I needed some good hardy bread that would stick to the ribs for a while.  Got a little carried away with that . . .  any one need door stops?  That did rise better than I thought it would, so we'll see how that turns out  <;-]   It should be good for dipping in soup if nothing else or making croutons, which are of course are made to drop in soups, especially creamy ones!

So I baked the whole wheat bird seed bread.  Looks, OK.  Maybe there is hope.  Then it was time to bake the cute little bowls, which will make pippin size servings, but cute mind you, cute!  And now that we have tried them, they're nice chewy little round loaves

Now the new sponge that I put out on the patio to brew faster is looking very ready to do something with.  Hm-m-m-m-m-.  What's the problem with this?  DUH!   It's 106 degrees out there!!  One guess what this poor house feels like.

OK, lesson learned, check the dad gummed forecast before you start doing a bunch of baking. I mean, my new little hood is fantastic, but SHEEE!  Give it a break mama!

In the meantime, Sarah got the snuggles today.  Garrett loves a good snuggle, but when he is done, he is done.  Later he wouldn't give me one because he had "given Sassy his snuggle and it was all gone".    The price was watching Cars, for the 165th time. I got one by being sneaky and reading him a story just before he went home.

Then she found a color game on her computer and taught him how to play it.  Is that allowed in my home?    don't know if I'm ready for total couch potato-ing!

Will it help him redevelop am attention span or make it worse?

You are crazy turning on your oven in that kind of heat! Of course, anykind of homemade is worth the crazy. I actually cheated the heat and turned on my oven this morning too - ham and cheese quiche. MMMM....

I've been driving during the hottest part of the day since going back to work. It's so hot that my stearing wheel fries my hands...its bad. I get home and am so happy to be out of the heat!!! But I definitely don't feel like cooking. If I had my way, I'd eat cold cereal for dinner at least a couple times a week! lol. But Rob wants meat and real food....should I tell him to cook the meat then?
