I was on face book and found these pics that some one had posted that included my Sarah and then there were the ones on her camera.
Here is the water front crew. I saw lots of smiles in this bunch when I was up there. She seems to have found her little niche in the wonderful world of boy scouting. She has always loved the water. It was way too scary when she was little and couldn't swim, and of course she took the longest to learn!
I wonder why she is so tanned this time. She pent most of the time running around like this. I would have gone crazy, but good ole Sassy, she just takes everything in stride. Well, most of the time!
When Sarah climbed up to the platform to hook participants to the zip line, she hollered to not worry, she was tied off. Once again, I wasn't worried about her. I seem to have a peace of mind so often with Sarah. When she is not near by, she is on my mind just the way the others are, I just have a feeling that she is going to make good decisions and follow the promptings of the spirit. That she will be OK. We'll see if I have that same assurance when she meets "Mr. Right" . A mom is a mom after all ;+ ]
The "Big Skit" is quite the production. I was a bad person and talked her out of taking her sewing machine up this year. If she has it up there she spends all of her off time sewing and like a true Huish/Weaver. She goes overboard and gets all stressed out helping everyone else get costumes ready for it. The cubs ( and big skit) start the fourth week so that is a long time to never get much rest.
This year "Akela" was a girl not a she wolf! Here she comes . . . . and then it is time for giving wonderful advice and guidance . . . is that a classic "Sassy" expression or what? I had to laugh when I saw it. Looks like a Mother Huish to me!
Here is the same guy and the Camp Director, Jeff, . . . . afraid to ask what they are doing . . . I've been to a few of the cub camps, in fact I have been known to make a fool of myself at a few cub camps! I learned, never ask . . . or . . .what happens at camp, stays in camp?!?!?!?

This is Maurine. Liked her as soon as I met her, Sarah said
that she is as nice as she seems. I could tell they had become good friends. Her son worked with Sarah at the water front until he came down with Mono. Talk about a crummy way to have a fun summer at camp cut short!

Kaitlin, Horse Program, is the little gal with the bright blue shirt that matches the shirt (with white logo on it) on the guy across from her. She was the one that hugged me and said that she loved having Sarah as a roomie. I liked her before that and then liked her even more. The guy across from her is Sam, mother to the goats. Never did get the story straight but those critters did love their "mom". He didn't want to admit it, but I think he was kind of crazy about them too. He ran the Shooting Sports Program this year. Me thinks it was a good fit, just as the water was for Sarah.
Good News, Bad News . . Sarah got to co-star in a soap, BUT her co was just a little younger than she is . . does that make her a dirty old lady? Dare I say it, a coug . . . sorry just can't even joke about it when it's my little girl I'm talking about.
Narrating Little Bunny Fufu was also part of her repertoire. Here is the rather slow moving video of that.
So ends my saga about Sarah's summer. If you haven't figured it out yet, this has become the official updater for Jon. He took forever reading the posts that I did right after we got home. I couldn't figure out why it was taking so long until he reminded me how long he had been gone. This was a good way for him to keep up with the family in the past, but now he can't open them until he gets home. He wants me to get this stuff all printed. Guess I better find how to get that done, huh?
It was the evening that he told me that, that I realized how much I miss having a missionary out. I would find myself documenting our lives to the kids who serving. I tried to keep it up, but it just didn't to work.
And so dear friends, you have become the recipients of my comings and goings. Usually pretty insignificant, but my it is my life and I do love it. The ups and the downs, the tides coming and going, it's all mine. I have often started to post some things and it just doesn't seem the right venue. Some of those are saved as drafts, perhaps to be finished, probably never here however. Others have been just wiped out because I could never get down to make any sense, even to myself.
I have realized how helpful it can be to get things out on "paper", to express one's self, work out questions and take the time to ponder new ideas or even old ones that are evolving into something deeper and more meaningful. I have even been thinking about journaling, finally! When ever I have tried in the past, I would go back and read what I had written . . . and hello! Blah, was not even close to what I had been thinking, feeling, or what I wanted to say. Now with computers, I can go back and edit, clarify. Wish me luck . . . I hope to write my life story, so fascinating, after all.
