Jon Was Right . . . please don't tell him . . . I like him humble!

Jon, my old feller, gives beautiful blessings.  When we were dating, I noticed how sweet, humble and thoughtful his prayers were.  Be still my heart, I fell  for him once again.  I was pretty excited when our first, Mariah was born and I knew that this good man would be giving her a name and blessing.

When the big day came, I was sitting there listening to this beautiful blessing, enjoying the spirit, feeling so grateful for this wonderful, patient man I who had been preserved (kept single) until I could meet and fall in love with him. And  then . . . .  my heart about sank to my toes.  This creature ( a term I had learned from my mom  :-}  ) had charged her with the responsibility of setting an example and teaching her future younger brothers and sisters by her actions.  "How dare he lay that burden on my sweet, tiny, innocent daughter"!  Give me a break, good grief!  It's not her job, it's our job.  If I had only knew what was coming!  BTW, when she set the wrong example and taught the others something that drove her out of her mind, I did sit back and LOVE each moment of it!  And of course, being the baby of the family, I had no idea what an influence those older kids had on the younger ones.  I know, clueless, but it is fun to blame my brothers!

Now what is the point of all this?  Lately, the boys love to try to blackmail all of us oldsters.  First Gabriel, then Garrett, and probably Lincoln, but who can understand him.  Pretty funny, been there, done that.  "If you do that, I will do this"  If you don't do or give me such and such, I will . . . .!"  Shee!  Give me a break.  But, he was right.   They sure pass these little things on FAST!

Lynneah was home for one week and learned to blackmail.  There she sits (lays) in the hospital, with everyone around her demanding poo.  She's holding it hostage . . .  " OK people you want poo?  Hand over the food and we'll see about it".  Really, I am an expert in baby babble you know.  I heard her screech it.  Trust me ;+ ?
