Today marked 33 years of the wild ride we have called "marriage". We figure we did something right since neither of us are ever bored, we are better friends in spite or because of the ups and downs and we figure we still really want to grow old together.
Jon was so sweet. He came home from his dental appointment and asked if I wanted to go out for lunch. Ah, no.
Well how about dinner tonight? Ah, no.
Well I think I should do something for you for our anniversary! Don't make me go out to eat?
How about you put up my garage light?
So we agreed . . OK, I agreed that I gave him a light for his anniversary gift and he could install it for my gift.
We did have a little problem with it so it will have to be redone this coming weekend. The little electric junction box is on the outside of the house since there is a 2 X 4 stud directly behind it. The light is attached to it with two skinny little bolts. Since the box on the back of the light is larger than the junction box, it wobbles pretty badly. I cut one of the kid's blocks down to support the bottom of the light until next weekend.
Now I have to decide what shape to make a "plaque" to put around the junction to support the light . . . and hold the house numbers. They have been above the door but that new light hangs down in the way so I have been trying to figure out where to put them. decisions, decisions . . I am getting a little addled by them all.
I thought this light was a little bigger than the one over the front door, but it isn't and looks a little small way up there, so something behind it could actually make it a larger "presence".
So Happy Anniversary Jon! What the heqq, let's make it another 33 years!!
