FINISHED . . or NOT . . . .

The road to "you know where" is paved with good intentions.  Mine is at least 1.649.8 miles long now.  This is the antique window . . with the first pane of glass glazed . . . or something . .  more something than glazed.  I had quite the laugh at myself as I smoothed, added, took away that blasted putty.  If you look at YouTube, there is a lovely video that shows how to do this little job.  It is so simple and slick as a whistle, you will be done . . .  or not.  Also that silly putty stuff seems to NEVER set up.  How are you supposed to paint over any way??

So out came the paintable caulking and that was that,  butt ugly, but that glass is going no where.  I never have been able (translation: had the patience/motivation to learn) to do a decent job of that either.  The interior side of the window is stained dark brown, so I painted that side and will use sand paper to give it personality again. It is taking much longer than the day or two all of the HGTV projects take (being done by a BIG invisible crew) but mine will be BETTER and will hold up longer than theirs possibly could!

I have finished cutting the sides out of my tires for the gardening . . . . or not.  I found one that I had missed . . can you believe it!  How could I do that to myself??  or Jon?  You know I will hand it off if I can.

I do have a big ole' pile of lovely garden soil out there waiting to go into those tires and lots of plants waiting to go into that lovely soil.  Instead, we moved Sarah in for a few weeks until the semester ends and she can find someone else who is dying to live with her stinkin' cat.  Anyone want a lovely, lovable little kitty cat?  He is so cute, friendly and loves kids . .  heh, heh, heh.  and only weighs about 30 lbs.  Give me a call!!!

My guest house . .  I mean shed is no longer lonely.  The lab drawers are sitting in there, still organized, with the table top on top . .  needing to be cut down.  I have two sets of shelves out there slowly getting filled.  And I am so relieved that we can put some of Sarah's stuff out there for awhile.  I was not going to have it all over in our way again.  She would have had to rent a storage.  I am drawing the line if it starts to get so I can't work out there.   Jon took this picture because when he got it leveled so that I could start putting just a few light weight things up on the shelves while he was gone . .  naw, he didn't believe me.  He knows me better and then we did have to put a lot of Sarah's stuff in there as well.

Rob was over working on his brakes and while he was, the girls decided to finish their baby doll quilts.  I was so impressed with their patience and determination.  Arianna stitched 9 squares together an Tati finished 5.  Pretty great when you consider they are only 6 and 4.  I finished them up by machine and will put the backs on them tomorrow while I am "resting" for the sabbath.  I get so antsy by the evening and try to find service oriented activities to get me through the day.

Not sure why Arianna loves this bandanna, but she does and wore it for hours.  Here is her quilt top all ready for the back and binding to be added.

Then of course, it was time to do a little more snapping.

Next time the girls come over, they want to make little doll sized cloth books.  Only if Arianna reads to me while I work!!

The girls were VERY excited to tell me about their sewing! They loved it, and hope to come do some more sewing and playing (with said cat) soon. But as for me, I am afriad I will have to stay away until the cat is gone and the house is free from Cat hair! I am VERY allergic to cats. :(

The cat is only allowed in the one bedroom. I have even removed anything that could catch and hold cat hair, dander or litter dust. The mattress is even covered heavily with plastic. . . to be tossed when he leaves.

It was going to be the garage, but I knew we could never manage that with so many ins & outs every day.

Gosh lady you have been busy! Love the flower bed, the little quilts and the bandana. As for the cat you can keep him....hahaha I've decided I'm not much of an animal person. Hair, dander, hair balls, poo, urine, vomit, shampoos, shots, toe nail clipping and blah blah blah, NO THANKS! :)

Tati is 5 not 4. I'm sure she'd want that little fact pointed out. Arianna needs a red and white checked shirt with some green hair poking out of that badana and she's ready for after school pick up. ;-)

Tati is younger than Garrett, she won't be 5 until December, that's why she can't start kindergarten this year. . . silly Aunt Mariah :-0
