I have gotten to the point that I am actually getting projects finished. It feels good and is such a relief. All of the trellises are finished, they just need to be put up. It will take more than just me to install them, so maybe next week end when Jon isn't working such long, hard hours. Looking at this pic, I have to wonder why it took a whole week, maybe only three days since I spent 2 days making jam.

The garden is doing well and I was given the name of a great book on "Desert Gardening" written by some one associated with the UA, so it is specific to this area. From what I have seen so far, it may be even more help that the "Extreme Gardening" which has been hidden away by my favorite little gremlins. . . rotten little creatures! No doubt it is with some other illusive and important items. But now I am hopeful that I can really have a wonderful garden and producing soon, especially in the Fall when we get through the worst of our heat.
Of course as if that isn't enough, I had to go to Home Depot and get more plants, of the blooming variety. Such a big lot is a mixed blessing, there is always a new place that is screaming, "Make me beautiful! . . or at least less ugly". So I bought these little gems to go along the "Balls of Fire" Lantana that I got last week.
Now I can focus on moving the gravel from the front yard to the side yard, keep putting everything in it's newly assigned place . . . as soon as I can make myself make those decisions . . yuck . . . maybe it's time to call in my organization consultant!?!?!? Outside and in the shed early in the mornings and inside our house, soon to become our home, in the later mornings. Then after my wonderful post lunch nap, it will be time to enjoy the fun stuff I want to do at the sewing machine, computer and around the house for the afternoons. Happy Dance here!!
JUNE 16 ---- I caved in early this morning and have spent hours trying to get in to my inbox with hotmail, send out emails to confirm water barrel orders and now can't get back into the inbox again to see what I have received. GGGRRRR . . . So annoying! I decided to catch my blog up, as a fun project. When I went out to check the mail, my front shade was already down, just got it up this am . .. gggrrrr . . . the wind is just not helping anyone, is it?
When I looked at the date on my cell phone, I realized it was my parents anniversary. It is a bitter sweet day for me, I don't know how my brothers feel when this day comes each year. Without that marriage, we would not be here or be a family. But it was often a battle ground and sad watching them needing so much from each other that they couldn't give. They had so much to give, it was a shame. One good thing was that we kids never doubted that Mom and Dad loved us. We knew they wanted the best for us, though they sometimes had some ideas that were just a wee bit off ;-}
Back to my week . . . . I am just about finished transferring all of my VHS tapes to discs. I am amazed how many I have, but with TV being such a waste of time, I am glad. I am finding myself hunting out the ones with winter weather, to help me ignore the heat .. a yearly tradition for this hot old gal. No, this is not all of them.
AS long as I am on here, I will throw in last night. Rob called and invited me and the rest of the family come and have some turkey enchiladas. Sarah already had plans and Jon wasn't here, but the rest of us made it and had a good time. The food was excellent, company was great, if a little but wild, but it was just a pleasant evening. Only problem was that I was craving some more enchiladas all day and had no left-overs. Oh well, at least I got to enjoy some of Brianna's good cooking and get to watch the kiddies having a good time.
And how about that little Lynneah. she is sitting up well enough now that there is not someone always hovering nearby in case she topples over. She doesn't scream the whole time she is on her tummy now and is quite good at pushing up on her knees and hands . . . but won't roll over . . funny little lady, she has an opinion of her own and never hesitates letting the world know just what it is. She may not look very chubby by the world's standards, but she is by the "Maskey" standards". She is in physical therapy to help her learn the skills she needs to learn and will soon be going to a speech therapy to help her learn to swallow. She pushes everything out the front of her mouth. Surprisingly, she has not lost weight. She is gaining.
"Little Piggies" became the entertainment for the evening. Thank you dads! It brought those wild little kids back "down".
This morning, I finally found my front shade cloth, that I use because I have not and may never get to build a pergola out front. It was back on the ground by this afternoon when I went to check the mail. I have a bit of an embarrassing solution until Jon comes home, but if it works, it will stay . . . maybe even after he comes home.

I didn't love putting these little guys up, but I do love having them in place and having the little vines starting up them. Yes, there really is some climbing up, give them time. Hopefully having them up off the ground and more sun exposure will help them grow faster. It is also supposed to help them bloom more and attract hummingbirds.
It is the end of a long day, Lincoln is on his way for a visit, so I will end so that I can take him to Home Depot to return some things I didn't need after all. I have had very little time with the grand kids the last few weeks. I have missed the goobers and will soon be to the point that I can have them over more often without worrying that they might get hurt. Then it will be summer!

Your home is looking fantastic! I can't wait to see the videos with the kids in them...you will have to tell me how you transfer them from VHS to disc. I have some I need to do too. Lynneah is growing up and is such a sweety!
I need to get to finishing some tasks around here. I've been busy catching up on some mother/daughter time...and that has been just as important.
Nice to see the work you've been able to do. I'm sure it feels great!
Thanks for coming over Wednesday...we all had fun!
I'm going to go eat left over enchiladas now! ;)
Rude Brianna!
