Have you ever used a little trenching shovel? They're great! Stephen loaned me his, all I want to know ... why the heqq didn't I hear about this before now!?!?!? it sure made work easier. It's even sharp, like it cut through some of the roots that I didn't want to cut. Oh well, the tree will just have to buck up and get over it already.
This would be the underground drip line that has been keeping our pine tree alive for the last 15 years. It took poor Rob 4 months to plant this crazy thing. He was just a little skinny kid at the time. It took lots of soaking, digging, picking to get deep enough. I was pretty proud when he got the job done. Not many kids could have tackled the project, much less seen it through!
