My middle name is Marie so one of my mom's nicknames for me was, "Shary Mary", and she often added "quite contrary", how does your garden grow? I still enjoy it when my sister-in-law calls me that. So today I thought I would share how my garden is growing with you.
First a look at the future. I am building grow boxes in the back yard. The second pic has a frame work that has long lost its canopy. So by next winter, we will have it covered with fiberglass and be it will serve as a hot house during the coldest months. The water barrels will stand in the middle to collect heat during the day to keep everything warm at night. Hopefully, the veggies ripen faster too, with more warmth round the clock . . at least that is my theory . . well, I read it in a book, but now it's mine.
If this heat keeps up, I may be using shade cloth in the summer to help guard against the sun!
So, do my eyes deceive me . . . no . . . I do see some red, the tiniest little bit, but it is red!! The peppers are blooming all over the place, but so far only one bell, no chiles. The zucchini is blooming up a storm, but not producing anything. Can you believe that? I shaded them before the sun came up this morning to see if the blooms would stay open longer and get pollinated. The yellow squash bloomed yesterday and has two coming on!!

Wow, looks fabulous and you practice what you preach!
So cool! I'm very imppressed!
I love the look of all the green plants! And then when they blossom or starting growing fruits, veggies, etc, I love all the different colors. Speaking of which...the Bountiful Basket experience this morning was great! We got so much food and the girls thought it was very neat when they got to help load it into our basket! Thank you!
