With Kids, You Just Never Know . . . .

A few weeks ago, Sarah made us a special treat.  Gabriel was going to have his overnighter.  I was worried.  We decided that if he didn't want to join us, we would fall back on good old mac & cheese.

So we served it up, Gabriel tried it, made a few comments on how good it was and went to town until his whole plate was gone.  what was he eating you ask?

Sushi of all things!  Funny little guy.  He has enjoyed bragging to his mom about eating seaweed.

I was surprised what Sassy put into it.  Strip of fish (cooked Tilapia), avocado, cucumber, carrot, Asian fish eggs (orange caviar), sticky rice.   All wrapped in seaweed.  He downed them and asked for more.   Poor kid couldn't even dip them since he can't have soy.

The next time we made sushi, I made mine with chicken.  They were good too!

Sushi without soy...never heard about such a thing! But he was a brave little boy...can't say that I will ever try sushi...being allergic to several seafood things helps me stick to that conviction!
hehe.

That is AWESOME!!! I love sushi and that sounds really good. I have always wanted to try making it myself. Way to go Gabriel. I hope my kids will eat it one day.
