The Reception . . . . Such a Pleasant Time . . . When Your Not the Bride's Mother!

We all took turns chasing Norma back out to enjoy the party. It was kind of funny. She is a worrier, which I can totally identify with. But I am so good at it, that now one even needs to bother doing it, I will take care of the little task for all of us . . can't help it, it's in the genes!

1. The end results, finally. I didn't sleep very well on Friday night, I was so nervous that I would walk in and find it all back on the floor. Tim suggested letting the extra tulle just cascade down. I liked the idea immediately and checked with Norma, the bride's mother. Great idea! 2. This is the view from right in front of the stage and cascading tulle. Norma had thought of fluffing lots of tulle on the floor. It was a wonderful way to hide wires and plugs while adding kind of a dreamy romantic touch to the whole mood. I intend to remember that little trick!

1. Had to get a picture of the bridemaids' shoes. Evidently the adage holds true, it hurts to be beautiful! 2 - 3. The food tables were absolutely beautiful! It was also so delicious. The men didn't just eat, and eat, they commented repeatedly on how great the food was. Joi is one very talented young woman. I would envy her if she wasn't such a generous lovely person . . . can't begrudge someone like that who deserves to have those skills after developing her talents so well. Watch out Martha, this little gal is also nice!!!
1. Steve, Valerie, Norma and Paul. I managed to catch them between greeting guests, some were nice and held back so I could get the picture. 2. Lincoln has a new name . . . Pincoln. Papa gave it to him while we were babysitting. I like it, shorter than Pinkie Linkie. this little reached for me and then wanted to be handed off as soon as he saw Papa. Oh darn, someone else was going to wrestled back and blue! 3. This was such a classic. Jon's mother passed away before we met, so I have missed out on many of those fun stories of his infancy. One thing I have always known, he was not so kicked back in those days. Every picture I have seen of him there is one of his parents, his sister Charlotte and a little bald blur that became a little blond later. Now I have evidence that his genes have been passed on.

1. I have seen many Father/Daughter dances at receptions, but this one was the one that has pulled at my heart strings the most. Paul had the most tender look in his eyes as he took his daughter in his arms as she stepped out into life as a married woman. I looked around and my eyes weren't the only ones misting over. 2. I have seen this scene so many times at receptions as well. The bride kicking up her heels and the groom feeding his face. Way to go Steve, you're normal! He did dance as well, No one can blame him for hitting the food. It was so good! 3.Rusty and Bobbi dancing up a storm. they love to dance, together, and it was pretty obvious. So wonderful to watch in a couple that have been "around the corner" a few times. Rusty serves in the University Ward. Jon and I enjoy being down there with them.

1. Janis and Randy Golding enjoying a moment, just the two of them . . . for the moment. Janis always lends a fun, wherever she serves, tonight it was the chocolate fountain and other sweets, an appropriate place for her! 2. Once the dancing begins, the girls dance and dance and dance. These are the University gals, dancing around the bride, you can barely see Valerie's dress. 3. Oops, I must really like this picture of these two "kids" . . . put it in twice! They are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

You are far too kind! I could NOT have done it without you and your calming influence! You did an amazing job with the gym, it was lovely!

It looks so beautiful. Just how many yards of tulle did that take? What a chore. Nice to have good help, huh?
