Wah, Wah, Wah, continued . .

So today I found out that I have strep throat.  Sure wish I'd  had my car so that I could have gotten right in to the doctor on Wednesday when I first saw the white gross spots on my left tonsil.  Wah, Wah, Wah . . .  I have gotten worse every day and even worse each night waiting until I could get in today. Oh how I hate to get sick!  I have noticed over the years that there seems to be different stages of how hard these nasty bugs hit a person.  I keep reminding myself that this is better that the alternative, 6' under . . .  though I might have a hard time convincing me of that if tonight is anything like last night!

Susan picked me up and took me in.  She wanted to take me home and then go back to fill my Rx, but I needed to get a few other items so we went to the Wally-World with the pharmacy still in the front of the store.  I got what I needed in that area and then she went back and got the noodles that I had run out of.  I guess I looked like death warmed over by the time I took a long hot shower.

On a happy note.  Remember my little project last year that I called "Bloomhilda"?  Oh how I loved that cute little tree. I left her outside a little too long and she never quited recovered, so I traded her in for two Cove Honysuckles, which are hanging in there, each in their own way.  We'll see what happens there, BUT . . .  . . . . this year, I decided to try something a little easier and less expensive.

Meet "Flora Pequeña".   I finally got rid of the rusty mini-blinds that Jon & I have been tustling over for years now ;-} (Gotta love it, buy a plant he likes and I win)
So far she loves the filtered light the frosted shower curtain gives her, the misting the showers give her and I had to close the window to keep the hot dry wind out of the room.

And now I lay me down to "sleep" or not, but at least to rest my poor ole achy back before I do something else.  I am so stinking hungry & thirsty, but everything I try makes me sick . ..  maybe I'll try just some water again.  That kept me going yesterday, kind of, sort of, a little bit.  I need more ibuprofen, but can't take it on an empty stomach . . .  gr-rr-r--rr.

I am being nice and staying home from a reception tonight to keep my bugs to myself.  I am pretty disappointed and tomorrow I will be missing a baby shower for a friend"s first grand child.   Talk about bad timing!  Oh, and did I happen to mention . . . . . Wah, Wah, Wah!?!?!!?

Oh Sharron I'm so sorry your sick! I'd Wah Wah Wah too! Strep is hard on us even when were young but your right it does get harder as we get older. I know I know...just you wait till your 60 missy! I think I've heard...just you wait till your 40, 50 & now 60...I certainly hope your around to say "Just you wait till your 70!" so YES strep is better than 6 feet under. Get better soon...so glad you had a friend that could take you to the Dr. and Wally World!
