In Honor Of Mom . . . my Mom

When we knew that Brianna was having a girl, I couldn't resist some little pink sparkly shoes when I saw them in the store.  Every time I looked at them, I thought of my mom.  She would have gotten them for all of her grand daughters if she were still alive.  So I tied some in the bow at the baby shower in honor/memory of my mom.

I went ahead and bought two more pairs so that when the other girls had their first daughter, I could give them some as well.

This morning when Mariah came by to pick up Garrett, she was telling me about the fun night she had out with some of her friends.  It came around to talking about her having a girl and how she has gotten into the girl thing already.

She gave me look right in the face and asked, "Since I'm having a girl, do I get a pair of those pink sparkly shoes in your bathroom?"

Duh!  Why else would they be there?  And this is on the record . . . . . .  since I haven't been allowed to ruffle any little bums yet . . . . this little girl will have the ruffliest little backside in town.  If she has a bum like her brothers', she'll need those ruffles to just look like a girl!

I miss Mom.

I have loved those sparkly shoes for years now. Everything is better with glitter or sparkles. It's exciting to have someone to put in them.

Hey, for the record...I like the ruffles! It's Rob who had the issues...but that's not to say that the girls didn't wear some anyway! :)

Aww Sharon you made me cry! It is going around this morning, I am on my third bout of tears! I miss my mom too! I am pretty sure she wouldn't have purchased the pink sparkly shoes, just not her style but ruffly bums were and we would have had plenty of that with her sewing skills I am sure! It breaks my heart some days to watch these little ones I know she would have eaten up, and yet isn't it wonderful there is a plan? Just to think she would only be 69 this year and well, she has been gone a very long time! Thanks for the reminder to be spontaneous and fun and make memories!
Oh and the soap (just saw you commented, sorry) I just made a new batch, can't compare with the dry haven't used it that way. I stay with liquid I feel like it rinses better. I have noticed though that some stains come out easier than others, depending on what it is. I however haven't noticed that our whites are any greyer. But I do use bleach on my whites (I know it isn't recommended, but....I can't help myself). I do like it and the kids here like it. I do like that it is easier and more condensed to store for long term storage purposes. Thanks again for your insight!
