Today in the evening shade I decided to go for the end.. I dug, pounded rebar, scooped dirt and mud, pounded pavers up, down, this way and that. Packed the mud here and there, including back under the soaker hose around the big pine tree. THEN I remembered, "Oh yeah, that was the snag that got me roping Jon into helping me with those back pavers. I had ROOTS!
I have been getting gutsy and cutting through many of them, some as large as my middle finger, one even as large as my thumb. Now I am facing about 5 or 6 much larger, all from the same area of the tree. I am terrified when I think of cutting the pavers to fit around the roots. Any of your who know me and my little trips to doctor offices and ER's, you will understand.
Then I remembered this handy little tool that I bought a long time ago to help me even up the laminate flooring transitions so that I could finish that project. I am so excited that I will have a safer way to finally trim these final pavers down, practice using the grinder and then be able to finish off the floors. What a relief it will be!
Of course I have been thinking while I have been out playing mud pies. How often do we put chores aside that we are dreading to work at. So much time can be wasted. I have to remind myself that it will take less time if the task is tackled. I about died when I realized that I had left this "on the shelf" so long that I had forgotten why it had been shelved in the first place. Color me embarrassed? The last two feet, to be dreaded no more!
I will have to lower and level the path surface for now, but it should look better anyway. Hauling gravel will need to wait until the truck is repaired and I will be filling back yard garden boxes, etc. Hopefully this fall, I can find the kind bare root plants I want to line the path with that are affordable (a price I can stand to pay, I am getting so cheap!)

You go girl! I need to come by and see all this work you have been doing.
So ambious! We are a lot alike. I rarely wait for Larry to help with stuff. What's the point of being home all day? If I waited for Larry to be around, nothing would get done.
except i haven't been like that in a good 9 months or so! :)
Just remember it was Stephen that said someday we'd have to take your power tools away rather than your keys. ;-)We wish you and all your fingers luck...
