The After . . . .

Today I had some great help getting things done.  Rob came and helped Jon get the AC mounted in his radio room window.  It's ugly, but at these temperatures, who cares!

Then he attacked  my front path and got it all leveled and just about ready for a nice layer of gravel.    I don't even want to guess how long it would have taken me.  I still have two pavers to conquer, but John Little told me where I strayed and so I hope to have those tamed and in place in the morning.

Next  he  loaded a bunch of wheat out of our shed so that I have more room without breaking my back.  Such a relief!  Tomorrow I can move more out of Sarah's old room and make more room to paint and get that blasted flooring down!

Brianna on the other hand, was digging deep into the "Monkey Room" by the time I got back from Lowe's with some stuff I needed to finish some of those pesky little projects that have been DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

That brave girl, dug her way back to the closet, emptied it, told me what to get rid of ( I have decided it is way easier to take from a daughter that you didn't go through the teens with, she agreed)  It was kind of cute the first couple of times I agreed to toss something and see this tiny look of surprise then relief flicker across her face.  I really do WANT my home back people!!

We have some bi-fold doors that came from another closet, they don't fit, Drat!  I will have to go ahead, find the curtains that used to hang there. Remember those? The ones that Garrett shredded a bit!  But it looks great for now.

She stripped every inch of that room.  It was so good to have a fresh set of eyes and mind to help make decisions.  Mariah came by with Lincoln in his cute little swim suit all bright and so happy after his first swimming lesson.  The girls talked it over, seeing that it is their kids who are my monkeys, and came up with some good ideas of just what that room is going to be for now.  Phew!

The fake palm tree is gone so we can see this cute little guy.

Then it was on to the vanity. This and the dresser used to belong to Jon's grandparents. Brianna got it arranged and had a cute idea for the frame on it,  Watch out  Sassy!

Next came the new shelf I have been debating about for a couple of years.  It took way took way too long to put up . .  when all else fails, read the directions?!?!?

A new arrangement on the dresser.  It used to belong to Jon's grandparents.  I think the little vases highlight the infamous "Ugly Lamp".  Straight from 1965, S.S. Kresgees.  All of it is original, and gadgets like this never die  ;-O  I will have to post a good picture of it and tell ya'll the story about it.  Mom and I had a ball with that project.  My kids just about died when I came home with it.  It was so ugly that Mom left it in the house  when she and Dad split up.  Now they all agree that, "Yes, it does go with the colors . . . BUT . . . "

I just might have it buried with me some day . . . . hum-m-m-m-m

I love when projects get finished. That's one thing I constantly have to work at. Trying to finish something before I start another.

Looks great...and feel free to be buried with the lamp because I'm pretty sure none of us will be fighting for it. :) Although, with all it's originalness ebay could probably use it. The monkeys will be excited to use the Monkey Room.

So glad your getting help. Sometimes we just get so overwhelmed we need those extra eyes and hands to help us out of the forest we have created. It looks awesome!
