1. I love to see the temple. I’m going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit, To listen and to pray.
For the temple is a house of God, A place of love and beauty.
I’ll prepare myself while I am young; This is my sacred duty.

2. I love to see the temple. I’ll go inside someday.
I’ll cov’nant with my Father; I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place Where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth: A fam’ly is forever.

This is one of my favorite Primary songs. When my children were growing up, we often sang it around our home. Today, Jon & I along with our daughter, Mariah and her husband Stephen, went to the sealing of our niece Kelly to her new husband, Troy. It was a lovely, blessed experience.

Today I was taken back thirty two years ago, on March 22, 1978, Jon took me to the temple in Mesa AZ to receive my endowments. It was a wonderful day to share with many of my family members. I learned so much and made sacred covenants with my Heavenly Father. By the end of the day, my heart belonged to Jon, totally.
Six days later, Jon and I went together and were sealed for time and all eternity. By the time that day had arrived, I realized that the sacred ordinances in the temple were all that mattered. Not the dress, cake, flowers, or any of the trappings that the world expected. Perhaps that is why this snap shot our neighbor took is my favorite wedding picture! We both hated posing for pictures and they all look like, "So take the stupid picture already!"
Today, We went to the Gila Valley Temple. It was the first time we had seen it. It is beautiful and the spirit was wonderful. So much happiness as we all gathered to see Kelly and Troy sealed. They are both 40' ish. Through their maturity and life's experiences they appreciated the covenant they were making to God and each other. It was great to see the love they shared. We enjoyed a simple, but delicious lunch afterwards and had a chance to see all of Connie & Ron's (Kelly's parents) whole family at one time. Talk about a mob!!
Mariah said that when the boys heard they were going to Thatcher, not Bisbee where their Maskey grandparents live, Gabriel said, "That's were Great Grandma Jeanne lives. They sure love her and I have noticed that when they hug her, there are no swinging monkeys or try to bowl her over! thank goodness. Mariah pointed out the two of them talking and I had to take a picture . .
Grandma better get to growing or these kids are catching up to her faster all the time!! He'll be six on the 23rd.
I only got to visit with my good buddy, Wendy for a short time. I sure miss her. I plan to get mad and just go on over there when they get back from some trips. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

I've always loved that song too! I'm so happy for Kelly. But I'm sad I missed the trip...especially the chance to see Grandma Jeanne. We sure love her!
That was so nice to see you guys! I'm just sorry we didn't get more time to visit, I guess I was running around too much. Next time...
