A Thing Of Beauty . . . What Is It This Time?

From a porcelain work of art (seriously, try looking at the hole in your floor with out it there!) to a kitchen hood. My view of the world changes every day.

It reminds me of when we moved to Thatcher about 15 months after we got married.  Jon made sure that I had a little fund out of the sale of our Mesa home to fix up the new house.  I had such fun shopping for material for living room curtains that would tie his bachelor furniture in with the carpeting and everything else.  This was while I was waiting for the delivery of our brand new gas kitchen range!  Talk about a beauty, at least until Jon got the gas line in and I started to cook on it!!  this was when I discovered that as soon as I shined it up I couldn't help myself, I had to cook something!  I was quite the domestic diva in my eyes and had "grown up" so much.  I giggled at the way I was shopping out of the Sears Catalog and never even glimpsed at the clothes or anything like that.

We bought a chain saw so that Jon could cut wood on the mountain for burning in  the fire place, such a hunk-o-man!  We bought a roto tiller so that it would be easier to garden in a serious way, in spite of the cliche (clay).  Little did I know what I was setting myself up for.  I got really good at splitting wood and running that roto tiller in the years to come . . . not jobs that I am fond of, but better than freezing or turning a garden by hand.  all we have left of the roto tiller are the back wheels but that funny little chain saw is still hanging in there, kind of.

Now I am taken by lovely sights like this . . .  but it is a sign of things out of my way, clutter diminished, and room to breath.

I also love his little sight . . . . no weeds, no big rocks, no doggie doodles, nothing to trip on.  Just plain bare, sterile ground and Jon helped me get it that way.

Now the decision, keep going and get it ready for some sod in the fall or "live green" with nothing to water?  It will probably end up"living green" but not to live green, just because I seem to come up with more places to put my  $$.  Once again, it's a gift.

Now it is off to make some "One-Hour Bread".   Ya'll have got to check it out on my other blog.  Really good stuff and it might take 75 minutes, but well worth it!

I am also going to make a sponge to make the "Artisan Bread" that Angela gave me the recipe for, it is to die for!!!  I think I thought of a way to make bread sticks out of it.  Move over Olive Garden, Nanny's come into to town!

You know, I think I would take warm bread, fresh from the oven, over a candy bar or chocolate goodie any day! Fresh, homemade bread is simply the best!!!
