The Aftermath . . . . .

This week has been a little more fun than the last few have been in some ways.  I have had more time to have fun with grand kids!!  Brianna has been bringing the girls over when she has been helping me . . . it's been giving me a good fix, especially since the boys came over for lunch and sometimes dinner.  They are such girls and it is so fun to watch as the girlie has developed and yet they can hang in there with their "all boy" cousins!

Earlier this week, the boys earned a special afternoon over here to paint & build some little wooden toy kits that I picked up awhile back for summer fun with the kids.  See the tongues?  These were serious little painters!

Yesterday the girls were pretty obviously tired little girls, so they kind of picked and finally ate some chicken enchiladas and the Arianna crashed in the family room and Tati soon joined her.  Thank goodness, they are the types who come and find us when they wake up.  Garrett would have quietly dissembled and entire room before anyone heard anything!

Getting to sit and pet Daisy is one of the big goals whenever the girls come over.  Chip just disappears instantly because Tati loves dogs so much, so Daisy gets all the love to herself . . . lucky dog  ;-]

Can't you just "hear " what Brianna is thinking,  "I have to stay in the corner til I get all of this sorted?"  Or how about, "What the heqq did I get myself into this time?"  Or there is, "I don't think this was in the marriage contract!"

She was disappointed that we weren't able to actually set the living room up with furniture in place, etc.  But today, I am going to:

  • Set the train tracks to the boards, permanently.
  • Mend, mend, and mend some more.  Actually, I am going to inventory my closet, I have run out of room and then decide if I really want to mend some of the stuff in the several boxes and then mend what I decide to keep.
  • Pouch more stuff and deliver so to give us the room to set up a living room.
I guess my big goal is that when the girls come and help me, they don't feel like they have wasted their time.  I know how that feels.  I used to come home every Christmas and help my folks with something like this and the next time I came down, it was time to start all over again.  I really will try girls!!  I appreciate all your help now and all through the years!!     . . . . . and you don't need to report me to that hoarding show!!

Gosh girl you blog alot! Just kidding. I've been sitting here for the better part of the morning trying to catch up on everybody's blogs. You and Brianna have been busy little beavers! Looks like you had a wonderful trip to the Gila Valley---I'm glad you got to get away from all the laundry for a bit. What a sweet daughter in law you have to be willing to chip in there and help out!

I think all the girls would agree that you have some more clearing out to do before you can consider yourself safe from being reported to the hoarding show! hehe.

I'll be excited to see more of the living room next week. It's been an adventure, but I'm glad I could come and do it. I guess you could say we both needed the help. ;)The cleaning and the all day talks have been nice. :)
