HAVE YOU EVER SEEN AN UGLY FIRE FIGHTER . . . . . ?

Well, you still haven't!
I just read through this.  I posted it last night after midnight while some bread was baking, for give all the mistakes this horrible computer made.  Son't (Don't . . . what can I say?) know what I can do with it!  Editing later?!?1?

The auditorium was unbelievably hot, the boys were so antsy, Lincoln was pretty mad that he could see daddy, but couldn't go to him.  What more could you ask for to have a wonderful evening?  AC, that's what!!

Lincoln finally got his daddy!  Doesn't this little guy know how to pluck at your heart strings?  He is good at it and no one can cuddle and stroke his fuzzy little (?) head like Daddy can!
Stephen was the brain of the group, so he got to speak for a few minutes. Did a great job, if I may say so, and I may.  That was the only time that the big boys were semi-attentive.  Gabriel is savvy enough to know not to say how bored he was while Daddy was speaking.

The dude who presented the award, mentioned that Stephen went out to his truck to study every day during lunch.  So impressive.  Then Stephen mentioned that he missed out on some of the camaraderie during the lunch breaks because he was out there every day .  Then he explained . . .  with three little boys under the age of 6 and one more on the way, it was the only time he had to read and study!  The reaction was a little gasping and then laughing.  Then his little "rabbit mama" waddled  up  . . . .  I mean walked went up to pin his badge on him . . . .  Pretty cute, my baby, now all grown up and being a grown up.

Afterwards, several other wives came up to Mariah and told her that they had a beautiful family, she did a good job supporting Stephen.  Blah, blah, blah, but good blah, blah.  She had gone to family groups meetings, etc. and seemed to have made an impression.  Mainly, Stephen wasn't going to leave her alone with the boys more than he had to!  I guess there has been a bit of teasing Stephen over it.  I sure understand though, seeing that I have spent so much time with Jon out of town for much of our marriage . . . . OK most of our marriage.

I do love these special times with our grown children.  I couldn't be there when Rob finished Basic and AIT training, but Brianna was such a good sport to send me pics during the whole day so that I could enjoy "be there" as much as possible.  Very kind & considerate of his mama.

Once again, it hit Jon & I how blessed we are that our children (all five) are trying to make their lives good ones full of giving to others, progressing, using the God-given talents and abilities  Working so hard to create homes where God's loving spirit can dwell and touch the lives of their children.  We never take any of this for granted.  We love liking our kids and grand kids.  We are blessed.

I sent Stephen some congrats texts before the graduation...I hope he got them. Congrats again!!! During the 2 days that Arianna was sick, running a fever and throwing up, I had to miss out on some pretty important stuff. One of those things was Stephen's graduation. It made me sad to miss it because I know how much of a sacrifice it can be to go through an academy, especially once you already have a family and little ones. I am very proud of what he has accomplished and look forward to more than just law-enforcement type stories at the dinner table!!! He looks great in his dark blues...I sure wish I could get Rob back into a dark blue uniform. But hey, I found out that once he's an officer with the National Guard, his dress uniform is Navy Blue. Something to look forward to! :) hehe.
