When Brianna and I were digging through the sewing room, she pulled these little gems and looked like, "We can throw these, right?" Sorry kiddo, they are going on the wall!

All but one were made by little ole me over the last 40 years. It started with this one when I was about 22. It was on sale and I was going to be taking a trip with my mom so I thought it would be a fun little project. She got a little annoyed because I usually did most of the driving. I was so hooked that I didn't want to stop working on it.
Mom had a blue and green living room. It was all based on the infamous "Ugly Lamp" I gave it to her for Christmas. I was so excited and when I saw her eyes, I knew that I had missed the target, again. I think it was because it has so many colors other than the blue and green. Oh well, I loved it then and still do.

She always loved little Hummel figures. When I saw these two kits, I was sure she like them. I think she disliked them less than the flowered pillow.

When she was in the hospital after a car accident that left her in terrible shape with head injuries. They asked up to bring in things that would jog her memory. Then they had her arm resting on it when the put an IV in. I was a little amazed that with all the other plain pillows sitting there on the bed, they used this one. It's drying right now. I washed it very carefully trying to get some old stains out. the little boy as well.

This is a piece that I saw the pattern in a magazine and gathered up the Persian wool and went to town. I learned why you want to buy kits! The pillow to the right was in Mom's condo when she died. it's a pretty delicate silk that I have kept put away to protect it from kids and then little dogs.
I have some stretcher bars that I bought at a yard sale years ago. None of them fit so I will be making bars for all of these. I found some fabric that I am going to border them all, stretch them on the frames and hang them around my sewing room. I will be glad to have them up where I can enjoy all of therm again. Only the pillow was not made by chubby little hands.

I remember these prints "back in the day" I think I even made one of them. I think they are beautiful and I'm so glad you found them. They deserve to be displayed!
Hey now, I think I was misunderstood! I was asking which pile to "throw" them in...not to throw them out. I've done cross-stitching and other needle projects and I know how many hours goes into each one. I just didn't know if you wanted them in the "to be finished" pile, or the "store for a few more years" pile! But I'm glad you are finishing them and hanging them in your sewing room!!!
Now, I'm still hoping to find the needle work you did for me when I was first pregnant! I am really hoping to get that on the wall in our baby room! (if it still exists!)
Have fun with the memories!!!
Absolutely beautiful works of art!
