When the kids were little Jon would occasionally comment that life is all backwards. when your kids are little you are so busy trying to make a living that it is hard to make time for them. When you are older and can cut back on your work, they don't need you.
He is often pretty wise, but on this one, he missed the mark just a bit. The kids still need us, if for nothing else, to take time with their children and stop to smell the roses . . . or whatever!
